Claire Tabouret

Born in 1981 in Pertuis, France, Claire Tabouret is a contemporary painter renowned for her intensely expressive portraits, often focusing on childhood, identity and vulnerability. A graduate of the Beaux-Arts in Paris and a student at the Cooper Union in New York, she has developed a pictorial language marked by sweeping gestures, vibrant colors and singular emotional depth. Based in Los Angeles, she exhibits internationally and is represented by Galerie Perrotin. Her work has been shown in numerous institutions, including ICA Miami, LACMA and several FRACs in France. She was also chosen to create the new contemporary stained glass windows for Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. Today, Claire Tabouret has established herself as one of the most influential artists of her generation, relentlessly exploring the sensitive areas of the intimate and the collective.
