Bordalo II

Bordalo II, whose real name is Artur Bordalo, is a Portuguese urban artist born in Lisbon in 1987. Grandson of painter Real Bordalo, he grew up in an artistic environment that influenced his practice from an early age. Bordalo II is internationally renowned for his monumental animal sculptures, made from waste and reclaimed materials such as plastic, metal and industrial objects. Through these powerful, instantly recognizable works, he denounces overconsumption, waste and the impact of human activity on nature. His work lies at the crossroads of street art, sculpture and engaged art, transforming the refuse of society into emblematic figures of threatened biodiversity. Present in public spaces and institutions alike, Bordalo II now exhibits in numerous cities around the world, establishing himself as one of the leading voices in contemporary ecological art.
