About the artwork

This work presents a minimalist desert landscape, dominated by three rectangular towers with identical windows. The ground is marked by elongated shadows, accentuating the sensation of solitude and immobility. The gradated sky, ranging from a dark blue to a lighter hue towards the horizon, adds atmospheric depth and a sense of unreality. The whole evokes a silent dystopia where space is both structured and empty, playing on the perception of isolation and architectural repetition. This type of composition, typical of Ghadyanloo, often reflects existential and social preoccupations through a refined and enigmatic visual language.

Expert opinion

This work is typical of the "Spaces of Hope" exhibition, in which Mehdi Ghadyanloo demonstrates a technical mastery of trompe-l'oeil and a conceptual depth that invites viewers to contemplate alternative realities.
