STARSHIELD

A monumental composition consisting of four panels, this work features a circular motif reminiscent of a well-known shield emblem, rendered in a palette of red, white, and blue on a black background. The central star, highlighted, is set within a blue circle, which is itself surrounded by concentric white and red rings. The white and red sections of the rings have a textured appearance, suggesting the incorporation of collage elements beneath the layer of acrylic paint. The surface texture suggests a layering process, in which printed materials or text fragments are glued onto the linen canvas before being covered with paint. This technique creates an aged or worn effect within the design. The work consists of four individual canvases, each measuring 120 x 120 cm, assembled to form a larger square measuring 240 x 240 cm. This piece was exhibited at Galerie Le Feuvre in Paris as part of the artist’s solo exhibition titled “AmerI.” The scale and imagery place the work in a dialogue with American iconography and its global dissemination, often recontextualizing symbols of heroism and national identity through a contemporary lens.
