About the artwork
Part of Mr. Kern's colorful, naive universe, this work is a blend of illustration and photography. The male figure presented here invites us to reflect on our modern society and the human being behind it.
Expert opinion
This work is a perfect illustration of Mr. Kern's work, using the naïve world of illustration to voice societal criticism and question our generation.
About the artist
French-Argentinian painter and illustrator Rolando Kern, a.k.a. Mr. Kern, became fascinated by the graffiti that covered the streets of the town of Llotja while studying for his diploma in applied arts in the illustration section. Faced with the bleakness of the wastelands, he set himself the task of "recoloring" them. Freshly graduated, in 2006 he published Cendart, a small collection of illustrations published by Colors Zoo. Now based in Seville, his work is exhibited internationally by various institutions and galleries.
