About the artwork
Behind the Clouds (Derrière les nuages) is a limited-edition digigraphie that perfectly captures Seth's poetic and dreamlike visual language. The composition features one of the artist's iconic child figures, standing at the threshold between reality and imagination. Rather than revealing a narrative, Seth invites viewers to project their own memories, hopes, and emotions onto the scene.
The clouds symbolize both obstacles and possibilities, suggesting that what lies beyond the visible world is often shaped by curiosity and imagination. Through a subtle balance of vibrant colors, delicate textures, and symbolic imagery, the artwork conveys a universal message of optimism, exploration, and the enduring innocence of childhood. Produced as a museum-quality digigraphie in a limited edition of 100, Behind the Clouds offers collectors a faithful reproduction of Seth's distinctive painterly style while preserving the exclusivity of a numbered edition.
About the artist
Seth, the artistic name of Julien Malland (born 1972 in Paris), is one of the leading figures of contemporary French street art. Emerging from the Paris graffiti scene in the mid-1990s, he graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs before developing an internationally acclaimed practice that bridges urban art, painting, illustration, and cultural exchange.
Known as the "Globe Painter," Seth has travelled extensively since 2003, collaborating with artists and communities across the world. These experiences have profoundly influenced his artistic language, which combines local traditions, mythology, and contemporary urban culture. His signature figures—often children depicted from behind—invite viewers to step into the image and imagine their own stories rather than imposing a fixed interpretation.
